Welcome to The Whisky Nest (TWN)


Your use of this website is subject to our Terms and Conditions, which are detailed below. By continuing to use this website, you confirm you have read, understood, and agree to comply with our Terms & Conditions, so please ensure you read them carefully. TWN reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice.


You are responsible for your own communications, including the transmission, uploading, or posting of information, and are responsible for the consequences of such communications to the Site. By agreeing to these terms it also constitutes your agreement to the Site Privacy Policy.


Age Restrictions 


You must be of legal drinking age to access this website. 

No goods are offered for sale on this site to any person who is below 18 years of age.

By placing an order through our site you warrant that you are of lawful age. If you are buying products as a gift, the recipient must also be of lawful age. This is the responsibility of the purchaser.


Registration and Passwords


In order to access certain services on the site, you will be required to provide specific information. All information about you must be truthful, and you may not use any aliases or other means to mask your true identity. Any access codes or passwords provided should be safeguarded at all times. You are responsible for the security of your access codes and passwords and will be solely liable for any use or unauthorized use under such access codes or passwords. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time with or without notice. 




In accessing TWN and our memberships, you are confirming you are 18 years or older and have not previously been suspended or removed from TWN. The prices displayed are inclusive of VAT and delivery charges. By signing up to a TWN Subscription, you acknowledge there is an initial and recurring payment feature and you accept responsibility for all recurring charges prior to cancellation. A contract is formed between a member and TWN once payment has been confirmed and a confirmation email is received. The shipping of boxes is as follows:

  • We ship our boxes when you sign-up. So whatever date you decide to join us is when we will send your first box and then each subsequent box will be shipped around the same date each month.

Your subscription will be automatically extended for successive monthly periods, at the subscription rate.

For gift memberships, there are no recurring payments at monthly intervals. The total amount for the full duration of the chosen membership must be paid in full at checkout.

Cancellations - We would love you to stay for the long haul, but you can make your journey as long or short as you like. You can cancel at any time; just send an email to info@thewhiskynest.com.  

We are unable to give refunds for Journey Packs that have already been paid for and/or shipped. 

Gift subscriptions cannot be cancelled.


The Nest Egg 


The Whisky Nest Limited (TWN) seeks expert guidance through experienced 3rd parties when purchasing casks for future bottling and as an investment opportunity. TWN holds bottles and shares in each cask to demonstrate their belief in the opportunity presented, however accepts the fact that a profitable outcome is not guaranteed. TWN remains the sole owner of ALL casks promoted on this website, except those sold by Mackmyra, where TWN acts as an intermediary.


The Bottles


The reserve price you pay for your cask bottles (The Bottles) covers everything (including VAT and Duty, unless that changes significantly) except shipping.

Each cask will be matured at the designated distillery. Once the whisky reaches maturation (determined by law and based on cask size and monitoring by the distillery) bottling and labeling will be arranged by the distillery. Specific labeling requests can be discussed, but are not guaranteed. This may also incur an additional cost. We will liaise with the distillery to discuss labeling and arrange shipping, the costs of which, you will need to pay before the products will be shipped.


Cask Measures


In buying shares (Measures) in TWN owned casks, you seek to profit from an increase in value which you deem likely over the course of its maturation, but you accept that there are no guarantees of a profitable outcome. You accept and understand that periodic changes in total production and consumption of whisky/whiskey can affect pricing across the industry through the economics of supply and demand and that the casks you have shares in, can similarly be affected in ways not typical of the entire industry.

You understand that there is no intention of bottling the product, but that it will be sold via a suitable 3rd party to achieve the best possible price.

You understand that you will not buy or own the casks used for maturation. 




TWN always purchases casks that are stored in a bonded warehouse, with full insurance and warehousing costs for each cask covered for the full duration that is pre-determined and non-negotiable. 

Within these bonded warehouses, professional operators manage the receipt, storage, maturation, and re-delivery of whisky according to the practices of the whisky market. The provision of bonded warehouse services, in all cases, will be subject to a declaration of the supplier’s duty of care. Each bonded warehouse operator has warranted under contract that whisky stored by it is stored with sufficient levels of care to retain the quality and value of the whisky ordinarily expected by the whisky industry.


Sale of the Cask


The decision upon when to sell the cask is fixed by TWN in cooperation with 3rd party experts, with the aim to achieve the best possible price. When a cask is sold, all fees associated with the sale will be deducted and the final value will be shared with all shareholders, based on the number of shares owned.


Online Store Terms


Our store is hosted on Wix, who provide us with the online e-commerce platform to sell our products and services to you.

All photos on our website are for illustrative purposes only and products may vary, in particular, ‘The Journey’ subscription boxes.


Tasting Notes


All tasting notes on the website and provided in our subscription boxes are written by our in-house team and offered only as a guide. Taste is very subjective and the experience will vary between individuals.


Offers & Discount Codes


If you have a discount code, this must be applied during the checkout; the option is located below your order summary on the review order page. Please note that we only allow for one code/discount/promotion to be used at checkout. Anyone offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Offers do not apply to subscriptions. Offers cannot be added retrospectively. Offers are not transferable or redeemable for cash or credit. We reserve the right to withdraw or cancel discount codes at any time. We also reserve the right to reject discount codes if we suspect any fraud.


Prices & Payments


All prices are as quoted on the site at the time of purchase.

All store prices are including VAT, but excluding delivery charges, which will be outlined before payment is confirmed and then added to your final total before checkout.

Payments for all products and services can be made by Debit/Credit Card, or via PayPal, using your own account.

If there is an obvious pricing error that could have been recognised at the time of purchase as such an error, then we reserve the right to cancel such purchases and issue a refund.




We believe thinking about the environment everyone’s obligation and we endeavour to use fully recycled and/or recyclable materials for all our TWN packaging, whilst providing maximum protection to guarantee safe delivery of all products shipped by TWN. 

Some delivery partners require water proofing of bottles, so the minimal amounts of polythene may be used when required to meet these standards, however this is always recycled and recyclable.




All our delivery partners provide a guaranteed delivery within 2-5 working days. If you have not received your subscription box within this time of your usual delivery date, you should contact TWN.

If no one is available at the given address to take delivery and no other delivery instructions were given to us at the time of purchase, our delivery partners will usually attempt to leave the parcel in a safe place, with a neighbour or leave a note which informs the purchaser that they have attempted delivery. Delivery shall be deemed complete when our delivery partner delivers the package in person to the purchaser, to someone who was rightfully at that address or when our carrier delivers the club pack in accordance with one of the methods outlined in this paragraph. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to inform us of any special delivery instructions at the time of purchase and keep us informed of any changes to any relevant details and delivery address. This can be done at checkout, or by sending us an email at info@thewhiskynest.com (with the account email, delivery postcode, and any other information that we may require in order to process the change) or by logging into the members account on the site and making the relevant changes. Please note that any changes made may not come into effect until the subsequent month. We do not accept any responsibility for delayed or failed delivery of any deliveries that results from a member’s failure to provide the correct delivery information.

If an order is returned to us, we will deduct the additional delivery costs from any refunds given.

The purchaser owns each delivery upon dispatch from our premises. Once delivery is completed, the risk of any damage or loss will be with the purchaser.  We will not be liable for any damage, defect or loss which may occur thereafter.

We currently only supply and ship products within the UK.


Damages & Returns


If you receive a damaged or broken bottle, please contact us within 24 hours. We will send a replacement package, either the same or equivalent. TWN does not refund damaged bottles or packages. TWN reserves the right to dispute the receipt of a damaged package or broken bottle.

Our delivery partners will usually notify us of any damages prior to delivery. If this occurs, TWN will replace your delivery as quickly as possible.

You can cancel any order within 3-days, as long as it has not been shipped. We do not accept any returns once an order has been successfully delivered.


General Terms


We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.

You understand that your content (not including credit card information) may be transferred unencrypted and involve (a) transmissions over various networks; and (b) changes to conform and adapt to technical requirements of connecting networks or devices. Credit card information is always encrypted during transfer over networks.

You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit any portion of the service, use of the service, or access to the service or any contact on the website through which the service is provided, without express written permission by us (TWN).

The headings used in this agreement are included for convenience only and will not limit or otherwise affect these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit the company’s liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Company, its directors, employees or representatives.

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law
